The second portion on Internet Architecture contains good arguments on why Network Neutrality is such an important topic.

The numbers do not lie: Family Medicine is not attractive to Medical Students

Match results of my medical school graduating class this year:

10 graduates matched into Family Medicine - I’m here.

Now contrast that with some of the following:

9 matched into Anesthesiology - Do we need more Anesthesiologists or Family Doctors? Do we need an almost 1:1 ratio of Anesthesiologists to Family Doctors?

13 matched into General Surgery - Why are we training more Surgeons than Family Doctors?

26 matched into Internal Medicine - Most of these are budding Cardiologists, Gastroenterologists, and Endocrinologists. When was the last time you met a General Internist that was younger than 35 and not a Hospitalist? They count Internal Medicine as “Primary Care”, but it really isn’t.

11 matched into Obstetrics-Gynecology - Most of them want to do fellowships in Gynecology-Oncology.

34 matched into a Surgical Specialty - We are producing 3.5 times more surgeons than family doctors.

Whatever we are doing to increase the number of Family Medicine doctors is not working.

Moose Factory, Ontario - water edge at low tide

Moose Factory, Ontario - water edge at low tide

The result of half a day of cooking: enough food for a major...

The result of half a day of cooking: enough food for a major part of my next rotation.

1 Trillion dollars is too much for health care reform

1 Trillion dollars is too much for health care reform

Doctor fired over 'America Dies on Dunkin' sign

Doctor fired over 'America Dies on Dunkin' sign:
A county commissioner who owns a doughnut shop and two lawyers who own a new Dunkin’ Donuts managed to get the doctor fired. “I think he was somewhat of a zealot,” Thomas (County Commissioner) says. “I don’t have a problem with him pushing an agenda, it’s the way he did it. People borrowed money to go into business and they are being attacked by the government.”

What you eat is important to your health. Eating doughnuts and diner food is potentially dangerous. I like bacon too, but the government should be delivering a message of healthy eating habits. Unfortunately, that doesn’t include doughnuts and diner food. Take notice, there is a reason why Mr. Robbins from the Baskin-Robbins ice cream family isn’t in the family business.

Troy Bike Rescue

Troy Bike Rescue:
I went here tonight. I’m currently on an Amtrak passenger train and it’s the slowest train I have ever been on.
The Northeast needs some serious railway investment so that cities will not have to be connected by only cars and trucks.
Imagine a typical 250 mph bullet train connecting the major cities of the northeast; Boston, NYC, Buffalo, and perhaps all the way to Chicago.

In case things go badly...

Don’t worry Democrats, if things go very badly tonight, there is always Canada.

AT&T Offers Free Wi-Fi to iPhone Users — Browse the iTunes Store for Free on Your Mac Too | TheAppleBlog

AT&T Offers Free Wi-Fi to iPhone Users — Browse the iTunes Store for Free on Your Mac Too | TheAppleBlog:
Finally.

iPhone study tool

Ambiance is a great app for those that like a coffee shop environment for studying but can’t concentrate with the noise.
