Farmers to Plant Most Amount of Corn Since ’44 - New York Times

Ridiculous - make bio fuels by growing the most inefficient plants (corn) - the energy that the fuel ethanol produces is less than the energy it took to grow the bloody corn.

How about learning from the Brazilians?  Grow some sugarcane which is about 10 times more efficient because it actually ferments properly?
